Chance Roberts was born and raised on a small farm in Springer, Oklahoma, where he still lives today with his wife, Maria, and their three adventurous dogs, Mia the energetic Corgi, Spook the loyal Australian Shepherd, and Lucy the gentle giant Anatolian Shepherd. Growing up surrounded by wide-open fields, woods, and winding creeks, Chance spent his days exploring, hunting, fishing, and playing every sport he could. Those real-life adventures helped shape the brave, action-packed stories he loves to write.

As a boy, Chance couldn’t get enough of books. He devoured The Magic Tree House, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Narnia, and Matt Christopher sports stories, often reading late into the night with a flashlight under the covers. While many of his friends weren’t big readers, those magical adventures sparked his imagination and made him dream of one day writing books that would hook young readers and turn them into lifelong book lovers. That dream became The Cabinet of Time middle-grade fantasy series. These stories are filled with time travel, friendship, courage, and just the right amount of wonder.

An Eagle Scout and a black belt in Taekwondo, Chance brings the same discipline, leadership, and love for the outdoors into his writing. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Safety from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is a proud graduate of Lone Grove High School, Class of 2010. Whether he’s fishing at sunrise, playing a game, or chasing the dogs around the farm, he draws on those experiences to create characters who face real challenges with heart and teamwork.

When he’s not writing, Chance can usually be found on the farm with Maria and the dogs, reading a good book, or dreaming up the next big adventure for Reina, Rhett, and Ryder. He hopes every young reader who steps through the Cabinet of Time will discover the same joy and excitement he felt as a kid, and maybe pick up a flashlight for a few extra chapters before bed!
